LOOKING FOR LIFE
One morning he listened
to a sonata for cello and piano
and then went out looking
for the kind of life he loved
in that music. He met
a man at Dunkin Donuts
who said he drove a car
that carried kindness inside it.
Then he saw two women
walking like light
was inside their legs.
He turned a corner
and two trees were
stretching to touch each other,
and then a car passed
with several precious passengers.
