Yesterday, another very frozen one, Delycia and I made a snap decision, around 3:30, to see a movie, The Silver Linings Playbook – and we loved it. On an icy afternoon, it was perfect to sit in a warm theater and watch a movie about the magical power of the human spirit. It was just a silly film, in some ways, full of unbelievable coincidences and transformations, ending with an implausible love affair, but it was perfect for us. It was warm-hearted and welcoming, the kind of movie that makes the coldest day of the year seem full of cheerfulness.
